'By having groups of the same plant repeated through a border you create a rhythm which helps the border to hang together and feel less busy,' she adds. 'You may be a self-confessed "plantaholic" like me and simply want everything, but it is definitely best to limit the palette. 'Make a list of the plants you want to include, then go back over the list and tick the ones you most want,' says garden designer Fi Boyle.
